Welcome… And Happy 13th Birthday!

Bookmark and Share

Though technically the Hollywood Vampires were created in the spring of 1997, this site didn’t come into being until February 21st, 1998 — which was pretty much an eternity ago in web terms. Through various iterations, flurries of activity, quiet spells as life needed to be dealt with, and a whole TON of stories and artwork, the Hollywood Vampires have soldiered on…

And I’m honored to welcome you to the latest — and greatest — version of the site thus far. A labor of love that’s literally taken me MONTHS to complete, everything on the site has been cleaned, polished, and honed to give you a truly unique experience in the world of vampire fiction.

Whether you’ve been with me since the late 90′s or have just discovered the Hollywood Vampires, I welcome you — I don’t care if you’re young, old, a rocker, a geek, a goth, guy, girl, undecided, dinosaur or whatever. The Hollywood Vampires attract a broad range of readers from all over the world — from South Africa to Britain to California and beyond! — and I’m happy to have every single one of you aboard… and am deeply grateful so many of you have stuck with me for so long.

Though I would love to get rich doing it, it’s the fans — YOU — that makes it all worth it. Despite getting the cold shoulder from the mainstream vampire fiction publishers because I don’t write anything like Stephanie Meyer or Anne Rice, I’ve kept at this because you guys LOVE it… and so do I. Screw the “mainstream” — we’re having to damned much fun to stop!

So please, explore the site, check out the new blog, take a gander at Nathaniel D. Smith’s eye-popping artwork, read the extensive character bios…

And drink deep of the hilariously human, rock ‘n roll-fueled vampire fiction found in the brand-new store! Within, you’ll find over 30 short stories, novellas, and novels to literally keep you busy for weeks, if not months… and there’s plenty more to come in the future! Not only that, but you’ll find plenty of tales that are free or going for as low as a dollar, all available for INSTANT download anywhere in the world.

If you think you’ve read or seen it all in the world of vampire fiction… think again. You ain’t seen NOTHIN’ yet.

Thanks a lot, babe! And am glad you’ve been so patient with all of this hurrying and scurrying around I’ve been doing!

So after 13 years I guess it’s about time I start getting active on the website. Being that I have in with the author I usually get all the news and even previews ahead of time. But I heard there maybe some Uncle Joe stories coming up on this here blog. I gotta be around for that. Have to make sure nobody sullys my good name, or my bad name if you will.

I’ve been sharing the occasional Uncle Joe story with readers in letters over the years, and everybody always loves them, so I figure they should definitely get posted here.

How could anybody NOT love the story of you getting retarded-drunk on the Anne Rice Vampire Tour and then arrested for public urination in New Orleans?

    And besides… it’s marginally vampire-related.

Wow 13 years! Time really fly’s when you are having fun.
Congrats on the relaunch the site is looking great. :)

I first started reading when you were posting Unholy War on the pathway to darkness web site and I was hooked from the first page and have been reading ever since. I have even got my husband hooked on them. :)

Thank you for not listing to the mainstream publishers who said no and continuing to write and giving us the Hollywood Vampires.

Hey Sarah! How are things in New Zealand? Still warm and snow-free, I take it? It goes without saying that I’m totally envious…

It doesn’t seem possible it’s been 13 years since I first put the site up on GeoCities back in college, and was posting chapters of Unholy War on the Pathway To Darkness site, does it? Good grief!

And THANK YOU for all the support and encouragement over the years — it’s been my pleasure and privilege to entertain fine folks like yourself with the stories over the years. Heck…

Some of you have even shared some stories of your own with me — just FINALLY got some time to start reading Dylan’s Kain story today, and had to stop because I wasn’t getting anything accomplished! Great stuff thus far!

Enjoy the new site — almost all of the “heavy lifting” (aka administrative stuff) is finished, and I can soon get back into the groove of writing new stories.

I’m absolutely dying to finish up the new Wade one and turn it loose — I’m getting close to the end, and stuff has gone batshit crazy! It’s one of those situations where the story just took off in its own direction and I’m merely along for the ride…

Very glad to have you aboard, Sarah — thanks again!
